Apple released iOS 17.1. iPhone update that is now available to all users, brings improvements to AirDrop, expanded StandBy controls, new Apple Music features, and new features in Photo Shuffle on the lock screen. Apart from that, it also brings bug fixes.

The iOS 17.1 update is now available for all the latest iPhones (2018 and later) and can be downloaded at Settings > General > About System > Software Update. The most significant change accompanying iOS 17.1 is AirDrop improvements, which is used for wireless media transmission. It will now allow you to continue transferring content even if you leave AirDrop range.

The news also includes some new features for Apple Music, which now allow users to add songs, albums and playlists to Favorites and view them in the library. Apple Music also gets new color-changing covers and song suggestions at the bottom of playlists. These features are also coming to Apple Music on Mac with the macOS Sonoma 14.1 update, which has also already been released.

With iOS 17.1, Apple also added Home key support for Matter locks, fixed an issue with Apple Watch pairingwhich was causing Significant Location users’ privacy settings to reset, and more fixed keyboard response issues. Apple released iOS 17.1 alongside watchOS 10.1, which brings double-tap functionality to the latest Apple Watch line, among other things, and macOS Sonoma 14.1.
