The open Tatra T603 may already be telling you something, because graphic designer Rostislav Prokop recently modeled it for Garáž.cz. However, he eventually let his imagination run wild and created MonsterTatra inspired by the Nascar racing series. If you are a lover of the classics, take your legs on your shoulders, this spectacle is not suitable for sensitive historians.

The four-eyed Tatra mask remained, and it also received diode lamps.

Just looking at the bow makes it clear that the original model was modified a lot. Just look at the front mask lined with chrome, which is now made of carbon. Four classic halogen lamps have been replaced here by LED diode headlights.

The front bumper is widened enough to correspond with the overall structure of the body. Additional radiators are clearly visible behind the grilles, indicating that the original air-cooled engine has been replaced by another.

The model received a significant expansion and combat colors of the original Marathon.

The front hood is also made of composite materials, equipped with a functional intake on top. The car is then overall dressed in racing colors according to the original Tatra T603-2 B5 Marathon.

On the sides, modifications such as a two-door design, extreme lowering, racing wheels with racing tires, giant side air intakes and exhausts brought out on the sides of the rear bumper will attract attention. In addition, it is clearly visible that this open version received a supporting racing frame.

The reduction is extreme, as are the exhausts, and indeed the entire car.

The madness doesn’t end at the back either, where a powerful diffuser takes its place at the very bottom, with a carbon aerodynamic bar placed above it. The rear lamps are vertical according to the original pattern, but fully diode. The next extreme can be considered a carbon pressure wing with wild shapes, which completely changes the rear of the car.

And finally, the engine, which, as you can see, has moved closer to the front seats. The power unit is called 502 HO BIG BLOCK CHEVROLET and it is a retrofitted 8.2-liter V8 from the Chevrolet Performance workshops, whose original catalog number is 12568778.

The engine comes from Chevrolet Performance workshops.

The motorization can be installed in models from the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle to the newer Chevrolet Suburban, however, Rosťa Prokop fitted this eight-cylinder monster connected to the factory four-speed automatic transmission 4L85-E into an open T603.

The unit produces 467 horsepower at 5,100 rpm, while the manufacturer recommends not turning the engine over 5,500 rpm. The torque then reaches 756.5 Nm at 3,400 rpm and goes exclusively to the rear wheels.

You might be wondering what that huge metal box in front of the engine is for? If you guess the monster fuel tank, you have a star. In short, such a thirsty eight-cylinder needs a massive portion of gasoline.

Finally, we have a two-seater interior, completely overhauled, including a modern dashboard and steering wheel. In addition, the driver’s racing seat has so-called ears in the upper part, which protects the driver against lateral movement of the head in the event of a collision. Although it is an open design, there are several blast ventilation outlets inside. Driving in this beast will raise your heart rate and body temperature just by looking at it, let alone in the cockpit.

All this madness is just a graphic vision, although the attached video renders the car very realistically. It is clear that this controversial vision will find many fans, but also opponents. And so we ask you, how do you (dis)like this wild vision of the open Tatra T603?

How do you rate the wild vision of the open racing Tatra T603?

Not my cup of tea at all.
