LG has just announced that it will be bringing a brand new to CES 2024 in Las Vegas 27-inch 480Hz QHD OLED gaming display, which the company refers to as the first of its kind and the new era of OLED. This panel was developed by LG Display, so it won’t actually be available for purchase, but the technology will sold to other companies for use in upcoming gaming monitors.

480 Hz is an incredibly fast refresh rate, and now double jump compared to last year’s 240Hz displays. This latest OLED monitor boasts QHD resolution (2560 × 1440), with a response time of only 0.03 ms and according to LG, it is the fastest of any panel on the market today.

LG also promises better image quality thanks to META’s proprietary technology. This technology includes a system of microlenses that maximize light emission from the OLED panel and minimize external reflections. This should be especially useful when used in a darker than average gaming environment.

The company states that this display emits the lowest level of blue light, approximately half the amount emitted by standard LCD displays. This is helpful in minimizing eye fatigue and reducing flicker.

LG Display says this panel will start appearing in products in the first half of this year, however, partner companies have not yet been announced. This is not the only 480Hz panel that LG will present at this year’s CES. There will also be a new monitor that works with a frequency of 480 Hz in HD resolution and 240 Hz in 4K resolution.
