In collaboration with Onder Ons Parike and the Brakel sports council, the fair race for juniors was held on Wednesday with 54 participants. It was Herzelenaar Senne Galle who already chose the harepath in the first of ten laps and thus built up his lead lap after lap to a maximum of 1.10 minutes. In the sixth of ten laps to go, there was a regrouping again. Of course the mountain prize was for Senne Galle (Kenenberg- Valkenstraat).
Jasper Vermout and Dylan Depetter then rode in front for a while . In the latter the Australian Noah Blannin and Rob Willekens took the lead. Blannin took the light apart from Willekens. Third was Basiel Baert for Tars Poelvoorde. Maurits Van Petegem was fifth.
Reaction from Senne Galle: “Earlier this week I was badly hit by material failure in a Walloon race. So I chose to take a good break. When I got to the front I saw that there was delay in her peloton so I just rode on. Apparently there were no candidate fellow refugees. All in all a good training and of course satisfied with my performance.”
Response from winner Noah Blannin: ” My mother is Belgian (Flemish) and my father is Australian. It was the first time in four years that we came to visit our family in Erpe. Due to COVID, an earlier visit was not possible.
I am very pleased with my first win of the season.”
