Welcome GAS enforcers to the Zottegem street scene.
I will not be able to greet you warmly and even give you a hug because you will be operating in civilian clothes and spying through the streets in search of polluters. Since that civilian attire will certainly not be a black ceremony suit with a shiny bow tie, I will certainly not recognize you. Because I fear that your enthusiasm could become too great, I want to say this: not everything that looks filthy and dirty and does not fit in a decent residential area, is the legacy of festival goers !!! So if you come by in the Ooststraat, don’t go looking to give partying polluters a ticket. The thick black cables left and right on the wall but pulled over the sidewalk and stretched at two houses there and the sand accumulation on the sidewalk are NOT the work of rocking Zottegemnaars and visitors !!! Those cables have been swinging around there for months and months and invite trips and falls. My appeal to you, GAS enforcers, is therefore: do not look for perpetrators, the government has known about it for a long time and above all, do not stumble yourself. That would only mean a failure for a brand new profession.
