The Roads and Traffic Agency has announced that it will start repair work on Gentweg (N42b) in Herzele on Monday 8 August. The works are expected to take three weeks. For traffic in the direction of Geraardsbergen, a diversion is planned via the Langestraat in Zottegem.
The works are intended to provide better road comfort and more safety for road users. Several zones will be restored.

Asphalt works are weather dependent and the schedule can still changeโ, according to the Agency for Roads and Traffic. “Of cyclists follow a diversion in both directions via the Rotonde N42/Langestraat, the Langestraat, the Tweekerkenstraat, the Rodestraat, the Wijnhuizestraat, Pijpketel, the Armstraat, Vinkenhoek and the Assestraat. It motorized traffic towards Wetteren can continue to drive along the construction site. It traffic towards Geraardsbergen drive around the roundabout at Langestraat, Langestraat (N454), Godverdegemstraat, Jasmijnlaan, Tweekerkenstraat (N454a), Kloosterstraat (N462), Smissenhoek, Gaverland, Luiveld and Assestraat until the intersection with the N42. The Ship Street is closed and the traffic towards Herzele Detour via Steenhuizestraat, Holmanstraat, Kloosterberg, Eikestraat and Brusselbaan (N8). It heavy traffic (+7,5 ton) towards Geraardsbergen is diverted via N42, N46 and N8.โ
