The grass square of the Burchtconcerten in Herzele was pretty full on Tuesday for two super good bands. first played Alice Mae. This band started as a solo project of Alexia Dhertoge and grew into a full band formation. The members literally found each other along the banks of the Ninoofse Dender. Anyone who has already seen them in action sees Alice Mae as a young, talented band. They play a mix of largely their own songs with idiosyncratic covers in between.
Kotzebue is a Dutch band and consists of Bram Van de Vijver, Kristof Vansteenbrugge, Jeroen Piro and Jeroen Van Den Berghe. They play blues rock/garage rock. What started as a satirical rock band with a cabaret side, has slowly grown into the genre that the likes of ‘The Black Keys’ and ‘The Black Box Revelation’ also use. Bram Van de Vijver, guitar and lead singer. Jeroen Van Den Berghe, guitar. Kristof Vansteenbrugge, guitar. The flamboyant Jeroen Piro was noticed, kidnapped and forced to beat the drums.
Next Tuesday
Base Six. A cover band around singers Sarah and Lynn. Together with 4 absolute top musicians they bring entertainment of the highest level!
