Stella Matutina’s boarding school in Michelbeke is open to interns from primary to secondary school.
It is a caring boarding school where the focus is mainly on the harmonious development of all the interns. The team ensures that all interns can live, learn and most importantly feel at home every day.
Since the end of last year and this year, the demolition and reconstruction of the upper floors of the boarding school has been underway, says boarding school manager Elsy Godefroid.
“We are striving for a renovated boarding school that meets current standards, such as the size of the rooms, adequate sanitary facilities, ample relaxation options, fire safety and updating comfort. In addition to quality supervision, we can also offer a quality infrastructure in a homely atmosphere.
The boarding school building is valuable because it is structurally and physically in good condition.
The roofs have been renewed and the interior finishing has started.
Where the lab and computer classes used to be, this area has now been included for boarding rooms.
This creates a compact building in which the boarding school is centralized. The facades are particularly well insulated, so that the energy level is greatly improved.
The construction of the fire road allows additional access to the Institute Stella Matutina boarding school and school.
The boiler rooms, separate sewers and techniques are also included in the Master Plan.”
Ready for the new school year
Commissioning is expected by the start of the new school year in September.
The renovated fire-safe boarding school will accommodate about 40 interns.
Those who would like to participate, learn and play can enroll in our schools, Het Groene Lilare and the Stella Matutina Institute and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of our warm boarding school, concludes Elsy Godefroid.
