The loyal supporters will certainly remember how the past football championship 2021-2022 for KSV Sottegem ended with an anticlimax with the loss of the decisive final match (3-1) on the field of title competitor DT Borsbeke. With victories against Burst and St. Denderleeuw in the additional final round, however, yellow-blue seized the second chance and KSV managed to crown the 100th anniversary of the club with promotion to the highest provincial division.
As in all other provincial football series, the championship 2022-2023 will be kicked off next weekend and the calendar maker has provided a ‘nice’ opener for KSV Sottegem (at least for the cashier): the last championship match of last season will be played. the first match of this new competition, in other words coach Koen Vanden Houten and his men have to look the neighbors of DT Borsbeke in the eye with whom they fought a dogged title battle until the end of April. Appointment for this on Saturday evening, September 3, at 8 p.m. on the site (Count Lamoraal van Egmont Stadium) on the Kloosterstraat in Erwetegem. Tickets are available in advance in the club room-café Huys in Oudenhove in Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove and in café Cambrinus on Stationsplein.
