On Saturday September 24, the 50th anniversary of the former student union Amarant will be celebrated in Richtpunt campus Zottegem. There is a chat café with live performances by, among others, The Holy Heart Rock Band.
“It started on March 11, 1972 with a meeting in the old pavilions of the Provincial Technical Trade and Language Institute in Zottegem. Daniël De Schampheleer, Hedwig Van Daele, Daniël Helderweirdt, Roland De Vuyst, Laurent Michiels and Daniël Baele were the former students who started ‘Amaranth’. Now 50 years later, this former student union still owns its own building, which is unique in Flemish education! This building is a copy of the first building and realized by the students of the school”, does it sound from Amaranth.
“To celebrate the 50th anniversary, the current board is organizing a class reunion for all former students. To complete the picture, retired teachers will also be present. All this will take place in the buildings of Richtpunt campus Zottegem, Sabina van Beierenlaan 35 in Zottegem, on Saturday September 24, 2022. The doors will open at 6.30 pm where a cozy chat cafe has been set up. To make it even more fun, live performances are provided. Anna Khodorvska conducted by Bert Embrechts, The Holy Heart Rock Band with former LLN Wim Van Kerkhove and former LLN Hans Sonck will perform live. We conclude with DJ Bonuzz, former lln Björn Boon, who will make the evening unforgettable… Of all graduated students, there is one year that deserves special attention. In 2020 there was no reception after the Corona proclamation. These students will receive an extra gift during the celebration on September 24.”
