During the first week (Monday 12 to Saturday 17 September) of this new booster campaign, 7,106 citizens have already been vaccinated with Pfizer’s modified vaccine. This means a turnout of at least 70%.
During the first two days of the vaccination we were confronted with some problems (eg difficult traffic circulation, internet and software problems).
This caused a huge crowd at certain times. In order to tackle these start-up problems, some adjustments were made (establishing a one-way street to get to the car park, extra vaccinators, only admitting people with an appointment, etc.).
These measures have ensured that from Wednesday everything went very smoothly. People could be vaccinated without long waiting times. This is thanks to our loyal group of employees and volunteers.
The first priority group (People over 65, people with weakened immunity from the age of 12 and caregivers) was fully invited. Only the invitations for the over-80s who were vaccinated at the end of June will be sent in the following days and weeks.
The first invitations for the second group, citizens between the ages of 18 and 65also leave the following days. All invitations will be sent by next Thursday at the latest.
We notice that a lot of people have problems finding the free parking next to the vaccination center. Enter the following address in your GPS: Felix Beernaertsplein 28, Wetteren. You can enter the parking lot of the vaccination center through the bank branch of Crelan.
