During the Teacher’s Day yesterday, Wednesday 5 October, the Zottegemse teachers were rewarded by the city council with a large jar of candy.
Mayor Evelien De Both (N-VA) and Alderman for Education Lieselotte De Roover visited the 26 Zottegem schools of primary, secondary, adult and art education to hand out the attentions. “The Zottegem teacher corps consists of many enthusiastic and passionate teachers. In addition to various branches in nursery, primary and secondary education, we can also offer higher, adult and art education. Something we are justifiably proud of, but which would be impossible without the daily commitment of the Zottegem teachers’ corps. Teachers have also had to be very flexible in recent years and months: not only has the corona crisis already presented them with a lot of challenges, the increasingly larger classes and the smaller number of teachers also require the necessary resilience and adaptability. With a candy jar as a token of our appreciation, we would like to thank them very much for all the work they do.”
