Geraardsbergen. dThe Geraardsbergen Art Academy recorded a record number of 2,133 registrations for music, word, image, dance or circus courses this school year. This increases the number of registrations for the second year in a row. Thanks in part to close collaborations with various schools, young and old find their way to the academy.
‘It is incredibly satisfying to see that more and more people are finding their way to the Art Academy. More than 2,100 registrations, that is not an obvious number, especially when you know that corona had a very big impact on the functioning of the Art Academy,” says acting director Martine Rouquart.
During class hours to the Art Academy
Some formulas have already more than proven their success. That is why the Art Academy is also starting two new Art Cure projects this school year. This brings the total over the past few years to seven. Thanks to Kunstkuur, the art teachers of the academy can share their expertise and classroom floor with their colleagues from day education. Pupils physically come to the Art Academy during the teaching hours of the day school. They experience culture in practice, develop their talents and get to know the Art Academy.
The Art Academy also continues to invest in new projects. For example, she is organizing SPOOKademie on October 27, 2022. Everyone can then discover the academy in a true Halloween atmosphere with spooky concerts, scary shows and much more. More information can be found on the Facebook page of the Art Academy.
Alderman for Education Fernand Van Trimpont is looking forward to the course of this school year with enthusiasm: “Music, image, word, dance or circus. Wherever her/his talent lies, everyone can go to the Art Academy. We continue to work every day on a challenging and at the same time accessible program so that every citizen has the opportunity to develop artistically.”
