Geraardsbergen. The Province of East Flanders and Local Government Geraardsbergen are working on the demarcation of the small-town area Geraardsbergen. Together with the Geraardsbergen residents, they draw up a Provincial Spatial Implementation Plan (PRUP) to record future developments. Anyone can submit their comments during the public consultation of the renewed start-up note. Interested parties will find more information during the information market on October 25, 2022. It is open continuously from 4 to 8 p.m.
“The aim of this project is to demarcate the boundaries of the Geraardsbergen small-town area and six sub-plans for the following planning areas: Unal site, near Schendelbeke, Astridlaan, Residential Expansion Areas, Denderland Shopping and Sint-Jozef. Together with our residents of Geraardsbergen, we look for answers to questions such as: where does our city extend and where does the open space begin? How do we ensure that Geraardsbergen is a city where it is good to to live, work and relax?”Alderman Véronique Fontaine, competent for Spatial planning & urban planning
Public consultation from October 10, 2022 to December 8, 2022
A first public consultation of the initial note took place last year. When processing the reactions, the environmental experts concluded that the plan may have an impact on the environment in Wallonia. This was not sufficiently described in the initial note. In order to carry out the procedure 100% correctly, it was therefore decided to organize a new public consultation with a renewed start note. It incorporated the advice and responses from the first public consultation. Anyone can submit comments during the second public consultation. You can read exactly how to do this on the website www.oost-vlaanderen.be/geefkleuraanjestad
