In the night from Friday to Saturday, a driver crashed with her car against an electricity pole on the Vijfstraat in Sint-Maria-Oudenhove. She got off with a fright. The concrete electricity pole snapped and was replaced by a Fluvius team on Saturday morning.
The accident happened around 3:45 a.m. The circumstances are unclear. The findings showed that the car had already driven well thirty meters into the soft shoulder next to the road before it crashed into the electricity pole in a slight bend. After the collision, the car came to a stop in a lower meadow. The driver was in shock after the collision but was not injured.
