Promenade concert at a high level. This is how one can describe the concert that was performed on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 October in the Oosterzeel cultural temple De Kluize. The GC De Kluize was always pretty full. The music lovers have seen a truly magnificent promenade concert by the Royal Harmony Con Animo Oosterzele and by the choir Pojedu Melle. The inhabitants of Oosterzelen should be proud of their very own harmony Con Animo, and with the performance of the choir Podeju Melle there was an extra element in the concert that made the evenings on Friday and Saturday heavenly and unforgettable. Con Animo and Koor Pojedu conquered all hearts. Con Animo continues to stand for insatiable stage hunger, a lot of daring, innate music drive and above all a lot of… enthusiasm.
There were spectators attending a Con Animo concert for the first time and they were impressed. Already with the first songs Light Cavalery, La Strada and The Mummy it is immediately clear that the attentive audience is waiting for a pleasant evening. What the harmony Con Animo manages every concert again beats everything. Impressive. It shows that the musicians play with heart and soul. Love and passion. Energy that becomes visible. They really pull out all the stops. The concert was conceived with superlatives after the performances. Justly. Con Animo doesn’t need much to grab the disciplined audience by the scruff. The choir Pojedu also scored highly. Before the break it was time to enjoy Vereih uns Frieden (Felix Mendelssohn), Bohemian Rhapsody (Freddie Mercury) and I love you (Stijn Meuris). It got really happy just before the break. The choir managed to surprise punishment.
After the break, it continued to watch, listen and enjoy El Camino Real, Honky Tonk Ragtime, Music, Carmina Burana, Benedictus and finally The Magic of Disney. The audience asked and received a little extra after a storm of applause. In the background a strikingly beautiful scenography. With conductors Bart Van Der Strieckt and Johan Van der Beken and pianist Steven Hellemans, Con Animo and Koor Pojedu have ‘golden roosters’ in their house. Conductor Bart Van Der Strieckt leads Con Animo with great discipline, each year he raises the bar a little higher. Bart Van Der Strieckt, a chunk of dynamite, full of dedication, class, incredibly perfectionist. He makes Con Animo a well-oiled machine. It is remarkable how every year the level rises again. Finally, the presenter, the conductors and the pianist were honored. Judging by the positive reactions, everyone breathlessly enjoyed the promenade concert. The music lovers will make their mouth water, the Harmonie Con Animo and the Koor Pojedu have fully succeeded in this. The music association Con Animo played at a high level, to put it in football terms: the ‘Champions League’. The audience got what it came for, a blissful concert. What do you get when you put our very own harmony Con Animo and the choir Pojedu on stage? A compelling, haunting concert. (marcel van de pond, photos danny de lobelle)
