Since 2020, Oosterzele has been granting an allowance to residents who buy an annual subscription or multi-use card for the swimming pool in Zottegem. From 1 November you can also receive this allowance for swimming in Merelbeke and Wetteren.
Oosterzele does not have a public swimming pool. Nevertheless, the municipality wants to encourage and facilitate swimming in the neighboring municipalities. These swimming pools have different rates for residents and non-residents. Since mid-2020, a resident of Oosterzelen who buys an event card or annual subscription in the Bevegemse Vijvers swimming pool in Zottegem can get the part that you pay extra as a non-resident from the municipality. From November 1, 2022, this also applies to the swimming pools ‘Ter Wallen’ in Merelbeke and ‘De Warande’ in Wetteren.
Alderman for sports Elsy De Wilde responds: ‘Oosterzele does not have its own swimming pool, but we help our swimming residents to practice their sport at a cheaper rate. The expansion to other swimming pools is a motivation to dive into the pool again or more often’.
The refund applies to multi-turn tickets and annual subscriptions and is based on the proof of purchase. A resident can get a maximum of 100 euros back. Anyone who purchased a card or subscription must request the refund in the same year. You can do this with a form, available at the Sports Service in the Sportstraat or online via https://oosterzele.be/zwemmen.html.
