After the majority of the weekend masses in Zottegem had recently been canceled as a result of first the farewell celebration and then the appointment of EH Hans Vandenholen, the fixed arrangement of seven weekend masses was re-established last weekend. However, this now appears to have been a one-off, because from this weekend these celebrations will be slightly rearranged – albeit temporarily.
So there will be for the time being no more Saturday evening mass in Velzeke take place (the already requested mass intentions will be taken to the Sunday mass at 11 o’clock in the deanal church). In addition, there will no longer both in Erwetegem and in Sint-Maria-Oudenhove there will be a mass on Sunday morning at 9.45 am, but this will now take place alternately in one of the two parishes: this Sunday November 6 in Erwetegem, on Sunday November 13 in Sint-Maria-Oudenhove, etc. moved up). The other weekend misses continue as usual: on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Bevegem; on Sundays at 8.30 am and 11 am in the deanal church as well as at 6 pm in Grotenberge. As mentioned, this is a temporary adjustment that was already foreseen before the news came about the appointment of EH Emmanuel Vidts as the new pastor-dean of the deanery of Zottegem and which will probably remain in effect until his appointment.
