Geraardsbergen. On Thursday evening, November 10, Elke De Nul and Nathalie Bury opened their new catering business on the Market in Geraardsbergen under the name Ellie’s. With this they want to write an equally successful but different story in a building where the Anso restaurant was previously located.
Nathalie and Elke are starting a new catering business in the building on the corner of Markt and Visstraat. With this, the two ladies are writing a new story that is a continuation of the catering tradition that this building has. The owners of restaurant Anso pass on the torch.
Nathalie (45) and Elke (43) radiate with enthusiasm and want to give the operation its own creative interpretation. With this, Elke is continuing her catering experience. She comes from Aalst and did hotel school. Elke is a chef by training and is also a chocolatier and baker. She worked, among other things, in the bar of the Velina in Goeferdinge. For Nathalie this is a completely new experience. Until recently, she worked in her parents’ business. Before that she studied tourism and was active on the Eurostar. Nathalie was ready for a new challenge.
Elke and Nathalie are best friends and had been planning for a while to take on a new challenge together. ‘We were looking for a suitable location to start a business in the Geraardsbergen region, until we got the opportunity to take over this property. It is a top business in a top location’, confirm both ladies. ‘Geraardsbergen has a rich past and a lot to offer. We are excited about the opportunity to start a business here.”
Elke takes care of the organization of the kitchen, while Nathalie will take care of the guests. We always work with local products. The offer is tailored to young and old. People who are looking for an original dish are also welcome. ‘Customers can come to us for tapas, food sharing, but also for the more traditional dishes, which we then give our own interpretation to. If you just want to come and have a drink, you are of course also welcome’, says Elke. Ellie’s will not be a traditional restaurant but will be more of a bistro.
