Until October 31, the Zwalm families could request one free tree or 3 free shrubs. No fewer than 540 Zwalm families signed up for this.
There was a choice of 9 trees and 6 shrub species including hawthorn, linden, medlar, pedunculate oak, hazel, woolly snowball and spork.
“We are very pleased that no less than 540 residents of Zwalm or almost 1 Zwalm family in 6 want to contribute to more nature and more biodiversity in Zwalm. So I would like to thank each and every one of them. The fact that we can finance this action with subsidies is a bonus. This action is made possible in part thanks to the financial resources we received in the context of signing the Local Energy and Climate Pact,” says alderman for nature, environment and climate Francia Neirinck (voorZwalm/Groen).
The pick-up time will take place on Saturday 26 November in the municipal warehouse (Zuidlaan 79). Given the great success of the promotion, all registered received a confirmation with the hour slot.
