The municipal council is currently investigating a request for regularization of metal guardrails that have already been placed on the bison pastures. Groen asks the Board not to approve this application because the party had already lodged an objection to the installation of such a metal barrier in the past. She’s there though!
According to council member Florian Vande Walle (Groen), the meadow is located in the hamlet of Korsele and you can see it from the Koning Willemdreef. After all, that lane is protected by Immovable Heritage.
Nevertheless, Florian Vande Walle says that the crash barriers cause visual pollution. A wooden guardrail would be more appropriate.
Horebeek mayor Cynthia Browaeys pointed out that the guardrails are there for safety. The application for regularization was submitted by the owner of the bison pastures.
The guardrails provide strength because such a bison weighs a bit and a long time ago one escaped.
