On November 20th we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King. In the old tradition a solemn celebration for the Catholic youth movements that attached importance to the Christ the King idea. Today, many groups still keep the tradition alive, but with a contemporary interpretation.
The party was also celebrated at the boys and girls Chiro in Balegem and got a special touch, the old leadership man also participated in the celebration. Indicative of Boudewijn Van De Vijver who set up a working group “CHIRONDERONS” with the intention of bringing former leaders and members together.
After the mass celebration, the members of the Chiro went to the classrooms for the traditional raisin cake with chocolate milk and afterwards a great afternoon of play.
The old leadership went to café “Sekuurne” for a reunion, after a glass of cava they also enjoyed a raisin cake with chocolate milk. It was pleasant to see again, many stories were brought up from then, the bivouacs and the two-day trips. After the meal a pleasant walk of makadam, makadam…. After the walk another quiz was played, the young leadership won with 1 point from the old leadership. Everyone was satisfied and already looking forward to the next meeting.
