It’s a circus that hurts the entire US political class. In the perceptions of Politics and Justice, it is a disaster in the USA. Everyone has a negative perception of the political class and the judiciary. All indications are that it is more of a political decision by the establishment.
Biden said that we must do whatever the Constitution allows us to stop Trump from winning the presidential election. Prosecutors in the US are politically charged. Trump’s attorney general is a Democrat. It is a file that was put on the table for the 3rd time, as a political decision that you take on. The mayor of New York said that all Trump supporters who will protest violently will be arrested.
They only victimized him, they greatly increased Trump’s share. Even the democrats wonder if it is necessary to reach this point. The problem was related to the subject of the file. The prosecutor who now proposed the indictment refused to answer if he has anything more.
Media close to Biden said it would probably be a case that would end fairly quickly. There is a huge difference in approach between the lawyers who defend Trump: one is extremely calm, the other is extremely expansive. Personalities have made videos attacking companies that support the New York Prosecutor’s Office.
Everything is happening in the hands of the Democrats. It was a correct decision for the supporters not to come to New York, it would have given a negative impression to the entire Trump effort. Donald Trump introduced himself willingly. He could stay in Florida without any problem. DeSantis was not extraditing him. The reaction of the Republican leaders was surprising.

On the war in Ukraine, Trump has a very simple point of view: he says that things can be solved in 24 hours if someone wants to.
Donald Trump does not come from the establishment, he does not have this institutional memory. There is also fear: it enjoys quite a lot of support. Trump creates a problem for the Republican Party and the entire system. They are thinking about whether Donald Trump will win the election in 2024. In the US, you can become president from prison. Donald Trump is a character that leaves no room for indifference. Trump has greatly polarized American society. The only difference that can be made is mobilization on the day of the vote. It was seen in the last elections.
What Trump did when he aroused the negative reaction that he does not accept the way the US institutionally works, the democrats are now doing through this process. It is obvious that we will see the rise of Donald Trump”, said sociologist Vladimir Ionaş, in the OFF/OnTheRecord show, on Aleph News.
Vladimir Ionaş spoke on the show about how the American judiciary looks, in terms of public perception, but also about the internal race in the Republican Party for the presidential elections for 2024:
“The prosecutor comes with some accusations. If the file generates public emotion, it creates a sensitivity. Donald Trump had no handcuffs. The way in which the sensitivity of each character is understood is very important.
The judge did not accept television cameras in the courtroom. Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign costs were close to $200 million.
Prosecutors say he allegedly spent $270,000 ineligibly. Two prosecutors have given up on taking this case forward. The prosecutor investigating the Trump case is the 3rd most financially supported by Soros foundations in election campaigns.
Soros financially supported 75% of important US prosecutors. 40% of the US population is under the reach of these prosecutors. In the USA, prosecutors assume these political ideologies. There is no perfect justice system. It is important to have a strong state. One of the FBI officers who handled the Trump-Russia file was arrested for taking money from a Russian oligarch to escape sanctions.
It is clear that the term of Donald Trump has changed a lot in the USA. A lot of information came out publicly that raised many question marks. Many questions are asked about how institutions work in the USA.
There have never been so many congressional investigations. Republicans say an equally tough move against Biden must be launched.
They probably want an impeachment on the subject of Hunter Biden. (…) Donald Trump has a huge advantage over the other candidates: he has been a TV and showman all his life. Trump knows how to give the public what they expect, he can turn the case into a show.
I don’t know 100% if he can lead the case to a new candidacy, because the Republicans prefer Ron DeSantis.
The basis of the Republican Party, however, is on the side of Donald Trump. There are 2 solutions: either the Republican Party negotiates with Trump so that he no longer runs, or Donald Trump can run as an independent.
If Trump runs as an independent, it kills the chances of the Republican Party to win the US Presidency in 2024. It will be difficult for the Republican Party to come up with Donald Trump as the candidate. There are a lot of question marks about what next year will look like in the USA”.
The US Democratic Party has no other chance but to go with Joe Biden in 2024, Vladimir Ionaş says:
“With the exception of Joe Biden, the Democrats have no viable candidate for the US Presidency.
Joe Biden will probably be the candidate of the Democrats. Vice President Kamala Harris has no chance for the US Presidency. The problem with the USA is that the US President represents the image of the USA internationally.
The president of the USA has to win the level of sympathy around the globe. Joe Biden also fixed many of the mistakes made by Barack Obama on foreign policy. This attack is happening on the dollar.
If it happens, it will be a blow to the whole western world. It is important that the President can represent the USA very well. Even Europe lacks real leaders”

Everyone was scared of possible protests and negative reactions. No one in the political class has the courage to tell the public why the threshold for abuse of office is needed. Even the people from the Justice Department do not speak. Probably the Justice is concerned with special pensions.
I would have liked someone from the Justice Department to say what should be done about abuse of office.
We will reach the situation where each judge will decide what is abuse of office.
In Romania, no one assumes, they are afraid of the electorate. I took the model of abuse at work from France and Germany and transposed them into Romanian legislation. There is more than 80% support for special pensions in the Romanian public, but no one screams and that’s why they don’t do anything.
Protests, perception have an effect on the political class only when they are very vocal. Most politicians are afraid of Justice and intelligence services. I think they were called from Brussels, including Mrs. Koveşi had a point of view on this subject. I think it is an obligation of the politicians to contest the draft law at the CCR.
Will the CCR agree after 7 years that that “NO” which was unconstitutional, is today constitutional? If the political class wants to cancel special pensions, then they should not take into account the decisions of the CCR, but only the CJEU. (…)
GOLD is around 18-19%. PSD and PNL will settle the governance more, so far the PNL has settled it more. Whoever is the prime minister of Romania settles the government more. My advice would be for the PSD not to take over the Ministry of Justice.
