Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi should get more involved in ending the war. The statement was made during a visit to New Delhi by the Ukrainian minister.
“We believe that India should get involved and heavily involved in the Ukraine issue. We believe that intensifying the political dialogue at the highest level is the first step towards this great goal,” said Dzhaparova.
Minister Emine Dzhaparova told CNBC TV18 that she expects India, which currently chairs the G20, to invite Ukrainian officials to the group’s meeting in September.
The Indian Prime Minister was also invited to visit Kyiv.
“My president requests a telephone conversation with the prime minister. We are looking forward to welcoming him one day in Kiev”, said Emine Dzhaparova, according to Sky News.
India is not very critical of the Russian attack on Ukraine and has recently increased its consumption of Russian oil.
