Ukrainian source: doctors in the occupied territories who refuse Russian passports are fired
Doctors in the Russian-occupied town of Snizhne were fired for refusing Russian citizenship, the Ukrainian army announced, according to Sky News.
The city, located in the Donetsk region, is close to the Russian-Ukrainian border and has been controlled by pro-Russian separatists since 2014.
The Russians have been pressuring Ukrainians in the occupied and separatist regions to get Russian passports for months. The documents have been distributed since 2019.
It is estimated that approximately one million Russian passports have been distributed so far.
