UPDATE 18:00 The Kyiv administration does not believe that the American services are intercepting Volodymyr Zelensky
According to some sources, the information contained in the American classified documents disseminated on online social networks would indicate that the US intelligence services would intercept the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, notes the German publication Frankfurter Rundschau.
Mihailo Podoliak, an adviser in the Presidential Chancellery in Kyiv, does not believe that President Zelenskiy’s conversations were intercepted, arguing that the discussions with the main Ukrainian military commanders took place differently than is presented in the unauthorized published American documents.
Mihailo Podoliak notes that the information presented in the American documents is “normal analysis”. A document assigned to the Pentagon shows that President Zelenski proposed in February, during a security meeting, launching drone attacks on military targets in the Russian Rostov region. But Podoliak rejected this hypothesis. “It would not make sense to vaguely propose bombing the Rostov region,” the Ukrainian official stressed.
The unauthorized publication of documents belonging to the American secret services, many related to the military conflict in Ukraine, generates “a very serious risk” in terms of national security, the American Department of Defense announced on Monday.
