“The projects for young people adopted in the Government reached the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. Thus, the Family Start and Student Invest credit programs, with important changes for young people, were approved in the parliamentary commissions, and the law is to be voted on in the Chamber of Deputies plenary. In a few weeks, young people will be able to access, again, the advantageous loans, guaranteed by the state and with interest paid by the Ministry of the Family. We improved the two credit programs, as the citizens asked us. Thus, we increase the amounts granted and the age of the applicants, we grant the possibility of purchasing any type of car, we expand the categories of eligible people and we give young people the opportunity to pay for their children’s extracurricular activities or to buy them equipment and tools to pursue their vocational skills”, he writes on Facebook Gabriela Firea.
She specifies that in the Student Invest program the maximum amount that can be borrowed increases up to 75,000 lei, and the age of the applicants up to 40 years.
“Also, we give students, masters and doctoral students the opportunity to use the money to pay for medical treatments, and those who are parents to pay for their children’s education or activities. The interest in this program remains fully subsidized by the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities. Families at the beginning of the journey or the parent raising their child alone, up to 45 years old, will be able to borrow up to 150,000 lei in the Family Start program, twice as much as last year. We also adjusted the income threshold for families, up to a maximum of 6,000 lei net for each member, respectively 7,500 lei net for single-parent families. In the case of Family Start, the money borrowed with 75% interest paid by the Ministry of Family can be used, among other things, for children’s education and extracurricular activities, for the purchase of second-hand cars up to 5 years old or special cars for people with disabilities , for the purchase, construction or renovation of a house, equipping a house with photovoltaic panels, for new household appliances”, adds the Minister of the Family.
The loans with the state guarantee and the interest paid by the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities, says Gabriela Firea, were extremely requested.
“Thus, until the end of last year, almost 500 loans were granted for students and 150 for families at the beginning of the journey. In total, the guarantees paid by the state for these loans amount to approximately 33 million lei. The money was used specifically for a down payment on a house, paying rents and tuition fees, purchasing IT equipment, especially laptops, performing medical treatments and organizing special events,” concludes Firea.
