“We see a migration from the classic à la carte restaurants to us. A proof of this is the increase in the number of transactions within KFC restaurants. However, another factor contributing to this development is the fact that, unlike in 2021 and the first part of 2022, there are now no restrictions, so people are going out to restaurants rather than ordering at home.”
Such migration takes place during difficult periods from an economic point of view. At the same time, another phenomenon that is happening is that in which people migrate from fast-food restaurants to pretzel shops and pastry shops. Marian Gogu says that this change is not currently observed.
“We are a barometer for the progress of the economy. At the moment, we are seeing growth in sales and there is no obvious consumer migration to pretzels. People are careful about spending, but we do not see a decrease in the frequency of their visits to our restaurants.”
KFC reached 100 restaurants locally. The American brand entered Romania in 1997, and today it covers 43 localities.
