According to DNA, Ivan George Alexandru, former general manager, respectively commercial director of the Bucharest National Airport Company (CNAB), currently an employee of the same national company, is being investigated for influence peddling, complicity in influence peddling, using, in any way, directly or indirectly, of information that is not intended for publicity or allowing unauthorized persons access to this information if it is done for the purpose of obtaining money, goods or other improper benefits for oneself or for another.
In the order of the prosecutors it is stated that, between January 11 and November 8, 2022, the natural person, without special capacity, directly or as the case may be, through the defendant Ivan George-Alexandru, allegedly claimed four times from a businessman (the defendant associate within a commercial company, investigated in this case) and from the general director of another commercial company, several sums of money (10,000,000 euros, 10,000,000 euros, 1,200,000 euros and 1,200,000 euros ). In exchange for the respective money, the defendant would have let it be believed that he has influence over the Minister of Transport and the General Director of the National National Agency for National Statistics, that he will cause them to perform acts that are part of their official duties in connection with the extension for various periods of time ( one year or five years) of some contracts for the exploitation of commercial spaces inside the Otopeni airport, concluded between CNAB and the company of the defendant that exploits commercial spaces in the retail segment, respectively between CNAB and the company where the general manager works.
In addition, in a similar context and for the same reason, during the period August 25, 2022 – January 23, 2023, the defendant associated within a commercial company, which exploits commercial spaces in the retail segment, allegedly from the general director of a other commercial companies the use of commercial spaces inside the Otopeni airport, and later the sum of 100,000 euros, from which he would have received, in the form of fictitious services, the sum of 294,275 lei.
The DNA also shows that between December 29, 2021 and February 1, 2023, the defendant Liţoi Bogdan-Şerban (at the time of the act, director of the Airport Facilities Management Department within the Bucharest National Airport Company (CNAB), currently an employee of the same national company, investigated for taking of bribery) through the fourth defendant, allegedly received from the defendant, a partner of a commercial company that exploits commercial spaces in the retail segment, the sum of 15,000 euros for the 4-month late approval of a specification related to an award procedure regarding the acquisition of consulting and assistance services organized by CNAB.
At the same time, according to the DNA, on February 14, 2022, the defendant Ivan George-Alexandru would have allowed a general manager of another commercial company (witness in question) access to information from CNAB that was not intended for publicity, respectively to data from the content a specification for the acquisition of consulting services, prior to its publication (18.05.2022). Also, the defendant would have indicated to the same businessman the way in which he could win the respective auction. The next day, February 15, 2022, the defendant Ivan George-Alexandru would have effectively handed over the specifications to the respective person.
