The National Railway Company “CFR” SA has launched the tender for the purchase of design and execution services for the modernization of the railway infrastructure on lot 3 Igiroasa – Drobeta Turnu Severin, related to the objective Craiova – Drobeta Turnu Severin – Caransebeş (225.287 km).
The estimated financial value of the contract is between 3,087,419,527.78 lei without VAT and 3,377,161,757.08 lei without VAT, the financing source being provided from Non-Reimbursable External Funds, related to the Transport Program (PT) 2021 – 2027.
The public procurement for lot 3 provides for the design and execution of modernization works over a length of 41.23 km, from Igiroasa (head Y) to Drobeta Turnu Severin (head X), km 331+000 – km 362+632, the CF connections of route variant with Prunişor and Drobeta Marfă stations, Drobeta Marfă CF Station and Dudaşu CF Station.
The estimated duration for the development of the technical project and the execution of the works is 72 months, of which 12 months for design and 60 months for execution.
The general purpose of the project implementation is to improve the infrastructure to increase the traffic speed to values between 120 km/h and 160 km/h, modernize the electrification installations along the entire length of the section (25 kV), increase the transit capacity, ensure interoperability through the implementation of STI, especially in terms of axle load (22.5 t), loading gauge (C), length of lines in stations and movement stops, facilities for people with disabilities, modernization of stations and movement stops , modernization of bridges, decks, rehabilitation/modernization of passenger station buildings, including the construction of footbridges and/or pedestrian tunnels, raising the level of platforms, in accordance with the European standards in force, installation of sound-absorbing panels and/or alternative solutions to reduce the noise level , new electronic centralization installations, in the stations and the introduction of the ERTMS safety system (ETCS level 2 + GSM-R) and the reduction of the maximum value of the slope on the sections where it exceeds 18%.
