The Norway international now has 32 Premier League goals after scoring the 2-0 and 3-0 first-half goals on Saturday after John Stones had opened the scoring. Haaland is just two goals away from the all-time record held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, who scored 34 goals in a 42-match campaign.
City needed just five minutes to open the scoring, Stones hitting a half-volley from the edge of the box.
After another eight minutes, the advantage was doubled. VAR detected a handball by Wilfred Ndidi and the referee awarded a penalty, converted by Haaland, with few emotions, goalkeeper Daniel Iversen guessing the corner.
In the 25th minute, Haaland was perfectly employed by Kevin De Bruyne and scored over Iversen, for 3-0.
James Maddison and Jamie Vardy had opportunities for Leicester, but insufficiently clear to endanger the citizens’ goal.
Pep Guardiola made two changes at halftime, replacing Stones and Haaland.
Predictably, the tempo of the game slowed, but Riyad Mahrez came close to injecting some energy with a superb shot from outside the box which drew an impressive save from Iversen.
With 15 minutes to go, Leicester managed to reduce the difference through Kelechi Iheanacho, who sent a ball rejected by Ederson into the goal after Harry Souttar’s header.
City still occupies the 2nd place, with 70 points, 3 away from the leader Arsenal and 14 points more than the 3rd place holder, Newcastle.
Leicester remains in the relegation zone, with 25 points, in 19th place.
