On Sunday, approximately 138,600 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, and over 30,500 means of transport, in both directions, passed the control formalities through the border points throughout the country, both in the direction of entry and exit. announces the Border Police.
“On the way to enter Romania, there were 66,244 people, of which 4,681 were Ukrainian citizens. Thus, starting from 10.02.2022 (pre-conflict period), until 16.04.2023, midnight, at the national level, 4,000,661 Ukrainian citizens entered Romania. In the future, the border control at the entry into Romania through the border crossing points is carried out promptly, in accordance with the provisions of the national and community legislation, the Border Police working at the maximum capacity allowed by the infrastructure of the crossing points”, according to the press release.
Regarding the specific activities, in the areas of competence – the crossing points and the “green border” – the border police detected 30 illegal acts, 16 crimes and 14 misdemeanors, committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens.
The border police confiscated goods worth more than 570,000 lei, issued contravention fines of approximately 7,700 lei; and they refused the entry into the country of 21 foreign citizens, who did not meet the conditions stipulated by the law. They also refused the exit of 17 Romanian citizens for various legal reasons.
