Minister Firea talks about manipulation and claims that the law that will be submitted to parliamentarians’ approval will help families keep their children.
“Through the Law on the Prevention of Child Separation from the Family, the Romanian state does not take children from their families, but helps them raise them! A terrible manipulation is distributed in the public space! We do not establish institutions that forcibly take children from their families, as happens in other states! The law to be voted on tomorrow in the Chamber of Deputies, PLx 145/2023, comes to the aid of children at risk of family separation. I say this as clearly as possible and anyone who reads the project carefully will understand. Children will not be separated from their family if their parents are working abroad! Children will not be separated from their families if their parents do not vaccinate them! Children will not be separated from their families if their parents don’t have school or live in poverty!” Gabriela Firea wrote on Facebook.
According to Firea, the new law will implement the mechanisms that will prevent the separation of children from their families.
“Through this law, the mechanisms were created to prevent the separation of children from their families, where this risk exists. We are changing the way of financing social services dedicated to preventing separation. In addition, we are establishing the National Children’s Observatory precisely to have a clear record of all children from vulnerable families, so that you can support them directly”, stated Firea.
The law will be subject to approval in the Chamber of Deputies.
