The event was caused by the collision of two spiral galaxies, resulting in the formation of stars, according to CNN.

The Webb telescope captured a dazzling explosion triggered by the collision of two galaxies
The colliding galaxies, known as Arp 220, produced an infrared glow containing the light of more than 1 trillion suns.
For comparison, the Milky Way galaxy has a luminosity that is equivalent to about 10 billion suns.
The images were published on Monday. Arp 220 is located 250 million light-years away from Earth, in the Serpens constellation.
These two galaxies began to collide about 700 million years ago.
