At least eight Palestinians were wounded, on Tuesday, in exchanges of fire with Israeli soldiers during an operation to arrest some Islamist militants, in the West Bank, say local medical sources, quoted by the Ynetnews.com website.
Israeli soldiers descended on a refugee camp located near the city of Jenin and arrested three members of the Islamic Jihad fundamentalist group.
During the raid, there were exchanges of fire with Palestinian militants. Eight Palestinians were injured, officials at a hospital in Jenin said.
The Israeli army did not report any injuries to its soldiers.
Earlier, two people were injured following an armed incident in East Jerusalem on Tuesday morning.
