Putin went to Ukraine. The Kremlin released several videos today, but Putin can be heard saying “Easter is coming” / “Error” was corrected shortly

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited troops in two occupied regions of Ukraine, according to a video released by the Kremlin on Tuesday, marking the second time in a month that he has visited territories occupied following the invasion.

Putin was filmed meeting with officers of the Vostok National Guard in eastern Ukraine’s Luhansk region and at the troops’ headquarters in southern Kherson, where he listened to reports on military developments.

“It is important for me to hear your opinion on the situation,” he told the officers in a video released by the Kremlin.

Putin’s appearance in Ukraine took place at a time when Ukrainian forces are preparing to organize a counter-offensive. Russia abandoned plans for an offensive of its own after failing to gain much ground.

It was not clear from the Kremlin videos when the visits to Luhansk and Kherson regions took place, but there were indications that they took place several days ago. In the version of the clip first released by the Kremlin, Putin can be heard saying “Easter is coming”, suggesting the visit took place before the Orthodox holiday, which was on Sunday. The audio recording was later edited to remove the reference to Easter using the future tense, according to Agentstvo, an independent news site.
