A number of just over 1.6 million homes have an optional policy in Romania.
The largest number of optional housing policies is found in Bucharest, namely 322,582 policies, representing a 31.1% share of the over 1 million homes in Bucharest. Together with Ilfov county, the number of policies reaches 397,763.
The second county with the largest number of optional policies is Timiș with over 83,000 policies, and the podium is completed by Cluj County with over 81,000 policies, followed by Prahova County with 57,956 and Constanta with 55,000.
At the opposite pole, the lowest number of optional home insurance policies is in Giurgiu County, respectively 10,130 policies, but as for the lowest share of the number of optional policies in the total number of homes in the respective county, it is in Teleorman County, where the share is 6.2%.
