Between April 10 and 17, the policemen of the Highway Brigade acted to prevent road accidents and ensure the flow of traffic, and, following the irregularities found, they applied 1,482 contraventional sanctions to those who did not comply with the legislation.
Thus, 586 sanctions were applied to people who exceeded the legal speed limit and 101 to those who did not use their seat belts.
Also, 21 sanctions were applied for technical defects, 20 for lack of Periodic Technical Inspection and 248 for non-compliance with OG no. 37/2007, regarding the establishment of the framework for the application of the rules regarding driving periods, breaks and rest periods of drivers and the use of devices for recording their activity.
The police applied 9 sanctions to people under the influence of alcohol at the wheel, 20 for parking in the emergency lane, 12 for irregular overtaking and 2 for aggressive driving.
They detained 167 driver’s licenses, of which 107 for speeding and 9 for crimes.
At the same time, 38 registration certificates were withdrawn and 9 crimes were found.
The actions of the Highway Brigade policemen will continue.
On April 15, the police officers of the A2 Highway Police Bureau, at km 144, detected a 26-year-old man who was driving a car at 185 km/h. After testing it with the drugtest device, it indicated positive values for the consumption of cocaine and cannabis. The man was sanctioned with a fine and withholding of the license, in order to suspend the right to drive, the investigations being continued.
On April 13, police officers from the A1 Deva Nădlac Highway Police Bureau, km 2, stopped for control a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old man. After the control, it was determined that he intervened on the recording equipment with a remote control type device. He was fined 9,000 lei and the remote control was confiscated.
