Two heart transplants were performed in two days in Târgu Mureş. The patients were given a new chance at life

Doctor Horaţiu Suciu says that a 30-year-old patient from Cluj had been hospitalized for two months at the Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic at IUBCvT Târgu Mureş. Different options were tried for him to improve his condition, but the saving solution was not shown.

“However, he came on the Tuesday after Easter. A 50-year-old donor located in Bucharest is the one from whom the heart was taken that gave hope and life to the young man from Cluj. I was sitting, after the transplant, in my office at the Institute, happy that these days were really good, at least for one person out of 8 billion”, says the doctor from Târgu Mureş on Facebook on Wednesday.

Another drama gave a young woman a chance at life.

“An accident in Baia Mare caused the death of a 16-year-old girl. Complete, unimaginable pain of the family, who had the kindness to turn their tragedy into life. And so, a 24-year-old lady received today (Wednesday – no) the youngest heart. She is a graduate of Medicine and until a few hours ago she had not chosen her specialization for Residency. I don’t know what it will be in the end, but for sure she will be a doctor and save other lives”, says Dr. Suciu.

The doctor does not forget his colleagues with whom he saved lives during the Illuminated Week.

“Together with them, we performed two heart transplants in two days. I don’t know if they are heroes, but they are surely like a strong wind that blew into the sails of the ship of life of people who have new horizons in front of them. I bow before them. And to those who had the power to donate their hearts to the deceased members of their families, I thank them. They are the sisters and brothers of life, who gave hope and perfected the love of people”, concludes the doctor.
