NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is visiting Ukraine for the first time since the Russian invasion, an alliance official said on Thursday.

“The Secretary General of NATO is in Ukraine. We will publish more information as soon as possible,” said an official of the alliance.
Images in which Stoltenberg pays tribute to the Ukrainian soldiers who fell in the line of duty in St. Michael’s Square in Kyiv were published by the local press.
Stoltenberg had an essential role in obtaining and coordinating the support of the 31 NATO member states for the nation in conflict.
Stoltenberg had been to Kiev before the war, but this is his first visit during hostilities and underscores the alliance’s longstanding commitment to defending Ukraine’s independence.
