The United States will provide Ukraine with additional military assistance worth $325 million, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Wednesday, stressing that support from Western allies will continue as long as the Russian military invasion lasts.
“This assistance package contains additional ammunition for US-supplied mobile HIMARS systems, as well as artillery shells, anti-armor systems, small arms, logistics support vehicles and maintenance services essential to strengthening the positions of Ukrainian defenders on the battlefield,” said Antony Blinken, quoted by the Reuters agency.
“Russia could stop this war today. Until Russia stops the war, the United States, our allies and partners will maintain unity with Ukraine as long as necessary,” Blinken emphasized.
This is the 36th package of military assistance offered to Ukraine to repel the Russian military invasion, said Karine Jean-Pierre, spokeswoman for the White House. “This assistance package is part of our efforts to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s brutal invasion. It will contain additional ammunition for the US-supplied HIMARS mobile missile systems, as well as anti-armor systems and artillery shells. The United States will continue to collaborate with allies and partners to help Ukraine defend itself, defend its democracy and its citizens,” Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized.
