After initially entering everyday life as a means of recreation, electric scooters have now become a means of transportation in their own right.

Greece tightens the rules on riding electric scooters
Considering that the number of electric scooters in Greece has exceeded 60,000, experts emphasize the need for more training and awareness among drivers.
In 2021, Greece set rules for electric scooters, such as a speed limit between 6 km/h and 25 km/h and does not allow them on roads with speed limits above 50 km/h. Helmets are also mandatory.
“The legislation has not been properly communicated or adequately secured,” says Manos Brouzos of the Panos Mylonas Road Safety Institute, adding that many people still think of them as toys and give them to children, even though the law does not they can be used by anyone under the age of 15.
