An individual who tried to attack employees and patients of a Jewish hospital in Berlin was shot by police officers, the German authorities announced, quoted by the publications Berliner Zeitung and Der Spiegel.

The incident took place on Friday afternoon in the Jewish Hospital located in the Wedding area of Berlin.
A 45-year-old man was shot by police officers and is injured after trying to attack medical unit employees and patients with a knife.
According to some sources, the aggressor is a patient who was hospitalized for the treatment of an addiction to prohibited substances. The man was shot by the police in the lower limbs, because he refused to throw away the knife he was armed with.
No one else was injured in the incident, which is being investigated by Berlin police.
