“Through the level of their professional skills, dedication and, last but not least, through patriotism, the soldiers of the Land Forces and civilian employees alike contribute substantially to Romania’s defensive capacity and represent us with honor in joint missions with international strategic partners. The difficult security context in the region and around the world that we are facing since the start of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine make the mission of the ground forces even more complex, in the face of the multiple challenges of a strategic, logistical and informational nature that constantly require efficiency, vigilance and new approaches. The professionalism of the Romanian Land Forces, which I had the opportunity to know from the inside during the years of my military career, gives me confidence that the defense of Romania is in good hands,” Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă said on Sunday, on the Day of the Romanian Land Forces, which it is celebrated together with the Christian feast of Saint George the Great Martyr, the Bearer of Victory, the spiritual patron and protector of this category of forces of the Romanian Army.
Nicolae Ciucă said, at the same time, that together with all the structures of the Romanian Army and with the support of Romania’s allies and strategic partners at the Euro-Atlantic level, the stake is “to offer the Romanians the certainty that they are defended in their own country, and that Romania continues to fulfill its role assumed by the security provider in the region”.
“The government is fully committed to ensuring operational capabilities through programs to equip the army and train the military in line with the interoperability requirements with other NATO militaries. I wish that their performances inspire the new generations of young people and cultivate their love for the country. I wish the entire body of the Romanian Land Forces health and success in all the missions they carry out. Happy birthday to the Romanian Land Forces! Happy birthday to all the Romanians who are celebrating their name day today!”, Prime Minister Ciucă said in his message.
