“European foreign ministers will have in-depth discussions on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, with the participation of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba via video conference, and the implementation of the EU Action Plan on the geopolitical consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine on third countries. The European officials will also address the developments regarding EU support for the Republic of Moldova, and a series of important decisions will be adopted for this purpose. European foreign ministers will also discuss the situation in Iran, Sudan and China’s positions regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine”, announces the MFA.
In the margin of the EAC, the European foreign ministers will also have an exchange of views with the Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili, who will inform about the political developments in Tbilisi and in the region.
“Regarding Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Minister Bogdan Aurescu will emphasize the need to continue EU support for Ukraine as long as it will be necessary and will mention current elements regarding the multidimensional support offered to Ukraine by Romania, as well as in connection with the deployment in Bucharest (April 12-13), of the first Conference on Black Sea Security, co-organized with Ukraine, respectively of the second trilateral meeting Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova, hosted by Minister Bogdan Aurescu. Regarding the implementation of the EU Action Plan regarding the geopolitical consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine on third countries, Minister Bogdan Aurescu will inform about Romania’s contribution to the political-diplomatic efforts of the EU and the member states to counter Russia’s narratives in relation to the aggression against Ukraine”, according to the press release.
According to the quoted source, during the discussions regarding the Republic of Moldova, Aurescu will refer to the most important developments regarding EU support for the Republic of Moldova: obtaining the political agreement regarding the creation of a sanctions regime to counter destabilizing actions against the Republic of Moldova and its order constitutional, the adoption of the decision to create the EU Civil Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova, strongly supported by Romania, a mission that will contribute to increasing the resilience and security of this country, respectively the continuation of assistance in the defense sector, granted by the EU to the Republic of Moldova through the European Facility for Peace.
“At the meeting regarding the situation in Georgia, Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu will welcome the presence of the Georgian Foreign Minister at the CAE, participation proposed by Romania and other member states, and will reiterate our country’s support for Georgia’s European path. He will emphasize the importance of support the EU institutions and the member states for the efforts of the Georgian side that must continue to implement the sectoral commitments associated with the advancement of the European agenda”, it is mentioned at the end of the communique.
