The Ministers of Agriculture from the G7 Group requested, on Sunday, the extension of the Agreement between Russia and Ukraine, mediated by the UN and Turkey, regarding grain exports on the Black Sea. The agreement will expire on May 18, if Moscow does not agree to its extension.

Russia formulated a series of objections regarding the extension of the Grains Agreement. Moscow insisted on facilitating Russian grain and fertilizer exports. The current agreement allows this, but Russia is unhappy about some practical aspects. The grain agreement, signed in 2022, is guaranteed by Turkey and the United Nations.
