The president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, proposed, on Monday, in the coalition, the progressive taxation, starting next year, of incomes greater than 25,000 gross lei, social democratic sources who participated in the coalition meeting told MEDIAFAX.
According to the cited sources, the measure would apply to both public and private sector employees.
“It is not excluded that more thresholds will be introduced, but no percentages have been advanced”, state the social democratic sources.
The Ministry of Finance received a deadline of one week to make an analysis and present the situation of Romanians with salaries over 25,000 lei gross.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă asked during Monday’s meeting of the coalition not to cut salaries, according to sources from the political scene. Also, the rule regarding the cumulation of the pension with the salary will not be made by emergency ordinance, the members of the coalition established, the sources also announced.
