“For a period of several months, there should be no more intervention on the wage law. We are in contract with the World Bank. We make the data available to the World Bank, so that we have a mirror of where we are now and know what measures to take. So we are not talking about a salary freeze, but a non-intervention for a limited period”, says Marius Budăi.
Asked if they can still raise wages until the end of the year, the Minister of Labor says that it is “a decision that the coalition will make”.
“Where an intervention is needed, you saw those balances between the increases coming from European funds and PNRR, the coalition understood and intervened so as not to have staff leaks from one side to the other, but we are not talking about the monthly salary increase in the month, because we are in April and we increased wages in January, but we are talking about a non-intervention on the wage law, so that the impact analysis we have when we go to the final analysis to create the new wage law is not modified along the way”, adds Budai.
He states that there will be exceptions to employment in the education and health system.
“There will be exceptions. Moreover, there will be exceptions for people with disabilities”, concludes Budai.
