Paun opened the scoring with a header from in front of the goal, in the 10th minute, after a corner executed from the right flank.
Ştefănescu made the score 2-0, in the 29th minute, after a collective action from Matei, whose cross was sent back in front of the goal, from where Sepsi’s striker shot at the long corner of Scuffet’s goal.
In the 42nd minute, Burcă fouls Safranko in the box and receives a red card, but Matei misses the penalty, shooting at the crossbar.
The hosts were more offensive in the second half as well, taking advantage of their numerical superiority. Scuffet managed to stop some important actions of Sepsi, parrying among others the shots of Păun and Matei.
Rondon then sets the final score, scoring for 3-0, after Scuffet defended a penalty executed by Ştefănescu, but was defeated by the Venezuelan who took advantage of the ball deflected slightly to the side.
Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe thus qualifies for the final of the competition, which he also won last season.
In the other semifinal, U Cluj and UTA Arad meet on Thursday.
