INHGA hydrologists have extended the Red Code on the Bârzava river – the sector related to the Gătaia hydrometric station (dammed sector – Timiş county), until Wednesday, at 18:00.
Also, as a result of the spread of previously formed floods upstream, the Orange Code will come into force on the rivers: Bârzava – downstream sector confluence with the Fizeş River and Moraviţa – downstream sector Şemlacu Mare hydrometric station (counties: Caraş Severin and Timiş). It will be valid from Wednesday, 12:00, until Thursday, 18:00.
At the same time, starting from Wednesday, at 12:00, until Thursday, April 27, at midnight, there will be Code Yellow for certain sectors of rivers in the hydrographic basins: Vişeu, Iza, Lăpuş (Maramureş county), Tur (Satu Mare county ), Someşul Mare (Bistrita Năsăud county), Crasna (Satu Mare county), Mureş (counties: Mureş and Bistrita-Năsăud), Târnava Mică (counties: Harghita and Mureş), Târnava Mare (counties: Harghita, Braşov and Mureş), Bârzava, Moraviţa (counties: Timiş and Caraș Severin), Olt (counties: Braşov, Covasna and Harghita) and Bistriţa (counties: Suceava, Neamţ and Harghita).
The targeted phenomena consist of important discharges on slopes, torrents and streams, rapid floods on small rivers, with possible effects of local flooding and increases in flows and levels, with the possibility of exceeding the defense quotas.
